LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Couleecap and Haven for Special People are set to launch the public phase of a fundraising campaign for an inclusive La Crosse housing development known as Haven on Main.
Haven on Main is a $23.5 million affordable housing project planned to be built at the old Pink Palace location. It plans to offer 70 residential units where adults with disabilities will live alongside non-disabled residents.
Couleecap so far has raised $3.7 million of its $4.2 million campaign. The nonprofit will seek the other $500,000 at a fundraiser July 7 at 3:30 p.m. at the La Crosse Club.
The event will highlight a $1 million lead gift from the Michael and Brandy Rea Family Foundation, whose donors have a son with special needs.
